Free Up Runtime Memory Using The FreeMemory Application

The FreeMemory Application allows you to free up the iPhone’s Runtime Memory. Here’s a little more information about the application and what Runtime Memory is.
Runtime memory is the memory required to run the iPhone processes. Most of them are system processes. The other
free memory is used for running apps. However, due to large requirement of system processes, there are only few mb’s left for running apps. That’s why you see app crashing, hanging, safari suddenly quitting etc. This can be due to the low availability of runtime memory to run those particular apps. The system processes require a lot of memory so there’s only 20-25 runtime memory left for the apps out of 128 mb. Therefore sometimes there isn’t enough memory to run apps which lead to app crashing. Freememory comes to the picture here. The app allows you to free your runtime memory which allows you to run your apps and processes without any problems like hang and crashing.
Now I don’t know the specifics, but the Application doesn’t kill processes as that would Violate the Apple SDK nor can it give information on the Processes. I’ve used this program for a couple of hours. I always notice that once you clear the memory and then run some applications the memory goes back down to 10MB. If you leave FreeMemory open and put your phone down for 10 minutes. The amount of free memory available actually goes down.
I don’t know what this application does on the phone to free up the Runtime Memory. I did notice that sometimes its really slow to bring up Text Messages, but after running the program its noticeably faster.
Here are some screenshots.
Oh and make sure to check the reviews of this application, you can see someone was upset over the icon used for this application and gave it a 2 star rating. Amazing.
